Why do we provide social programs for special needs children and adults?

Developing social skills is a major focus within special needs families. Finding a setting to practice those skills becomes scarce after a certain age. To help with this process Hopes N Dreams creates ways for our special needs community to develop and enhance their social skills. Our program is centered around children over the age of 12 and adults of all ages.

What kind of programs do we offer?

Throughout the year we provide several in person events, such as ice cream socials and holiday dances. We also coordinated family outings to shows, parks and more. Our annual projects are also a big hit with our families. Our summer camp and overnight travel excursion are our most popular events each year.

How can the birthday club benefit our family?

.A Great way for our community to connect between events throughout the year is our new birthday club. This program was created to highlight our members on their special day. Everyone deserves to feel warm and fuzzy on their birthday. When a child with special needs becomes an adult there are not many programs that provide support to families or group homes. Therefore, things like birthdays go uncelebrated. If we are able to change that and make a difference in one life, we are willing to try.

What is included in the birthday club?

Every month a birthday newsletter will go out to all our club members. Inside there will be some great information for the family to read. A list of members with birthdays will be listed. Donations will allow us to highlight a few members to share with the other group.

Each member will get:

• Social media shootout

• Mailed Birthday Card
